Prince of Wales Close

Our economic regulator, Ofwat, has not allowed us the funding to complete the larger Harton and the Nook flood protection scheme. Ofwat’s determintation on our plan is now being reviewed by the Competition and Markets Authority and therefore we are not in position to commit to the larger scheme at this moment in time. However, working closely with South Tyneside Council and the local community, we have committed to completing localised upgrades to our sewer network to reduce the risk of repeat flooding in the medium term.

Update by Sarah Jayne Parvin

Good afternoon all, it took a little longer than expected due to adverse weather conditions, but we can now say that West Avenue has now fully reopened.

Following on later this week, the traffic management will be removed from Prince of Wales Close.

We began work on the surface water separation, hand digging in the footpath at Prince of Wales close. All being well, we should be away from site by the end of October. We will keep you up to date with our progress over the coming weeks.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch at sarahjayne.vickers@jnbentley.co.uk or alternatively us the 'contact us' link at the top of this page.

Thanks

Sarah
