WINEP Durham Transfer

As part of an £10 million scheme, Northumbrian Water will be carrying out essential works to improve the performance and flexibility of our wastewater network and wastewater treatment works in the Plawsworth, Pity Me and Brasside areas of County Durham. The scheme will help to improve the water quality of the Blackdene Burn for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife and ensure that critical wastewater assets continue to serve the community effectively.

The team continued to prepare the area for directional drilling to locate existing and abandoned services last week ready for work to begin Monday 21 August 2023.

The installation of a temporary fence along the pipeline from Plawsworth to Pity Me is erected ready for the pipe install. Bog mats are being used in our areas of work to prevent damage to the environment.

Livestock fences are now in place to make sure our 4 legged friends do not wander onto our work, and are safe at all times.
