WINEP Durham Transfer

As part of an £10 million scheme, Northumbrian Water will be carrying out essential works to improve the performance and flexibility of our wastewater network and wastewater treatment works in the Plawsworth, Pity Me and Brasside areas of County Durham. The scheme will help to improve the water quality of the Blackdene Burn for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife and ensure that critical wastewater assets continue to serve the community effectively.

As mentioned previously the construction of the air value and washout chambers are ongoing.

New pipework has been installed from the discharge chamber to Brasside Sewerage Treatment Works, including drainage works within Plawsworth Sewerage Treatment Works.

The team continue to progress with work although the weather has been challenging.
