WINEP Durham Transfer

As part of an £10 million scheme, Northumbrian Water will be carrying out essential works to improve the performance and flexibility of our wastewater network and wastewater treatment works in the Plawsworth, Pity Me and Brasside areas of County Durham. The scheme will help to improve the water quality of the Blackdene Burn for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife and ensure that critical wastewater assets continue to serve the community effectively.

As mentioned in my previous update the installation of pipework to flow meter chamber is ongoing, with the generator, MCC Unit and Kiosk fitted.

Rotavating of topsoil and seeding is underway including the installation of galvanised ladders to chambers.

The pipebridge substructure piling works are now complete as well as the reinforced concrete roadway.

The woodland area is nearing competition for reinstatement, with Mowing strip works currently being carried out.
