WINEP Durham Transfer

As part of an £10 million scheme, Northumbrian Water will be carrying out essential works to improve the performance and flexibility of our wastewater network and wastewater treatment works in the Plawsworth, Pity Me and Brasside areas of County Durham. The scheme will help to improve the water quality of the Blackdene Burn for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife and ensure that critical wastewater assets continue to serve the community effectively.

Following on from my previous update our contractor Retroflo have continued with cabling to various chambers and MCC kiosk ahead of commissioning works and trial operations for wet well pumps. Commissioning of the backup generator at Plawsworth Sewerage Treatment Works has been completed.

ESH have been drilling and dowelling existing concrete slabs, ready for reinforced concrete reinstatement works within Northumbrian Water facilities. Including construction of a manhole and penstock fitted within the chamber.

Reinstatement work continues throughout areas of work.
