GENERAL PROJECT

WINEP Durham Transfer

As part of an £10 million scheme, Northumbrian Water will be carrying out essential works to improve the performance and flexibility of our wastewater network and wastewater treatment works in the Plawsworth, Pity Me and Brasside areas of County Durham. The scheme will help to improve the water quality of the Blackdene Burn for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife and ensure that critical wastewater assets continue to serve the community effectively.

Update by Rachel Rutter

Good morning

Hope you are all well!

As you might have noticed, we are now back on site, positioning and setting access covers to the shaft at Plawsworth Sewerage Treatment Works. The team are cleaning out and placing the gravel strip behind the MCC kiosk and generator.

Preparation for the concrete pour has begun at Plawsworth Sewerage Treatment Works. The team are using a 14-tonne excavator to reinstate the compound area and load away the hardstanding area before reinstating commences.

Access covers are being lifted into position and set into the shaft and the valve chamber ready for concrete.

Please contact us direct if you have any questions at nwl.customer@esh.uk.com.

Thank you have a lovely weekend!

Rachel
