GENERAL PROJECT

Allendale Wastewater Treatment Works upgrade

Starting in March 2024, we will be carrying out works at our sewage treatment works (STW) in Allendale. This work is essential and part of a £4.4 million investment project. It will ensure the STW continues to meet the needs of a growing population and that we continue to deliver a reliable and resilient wastewater service for our customers.

Update by Julie Oakley

Good afternoon Everyone,

we are excited to provide our latest update to the portal on the improvements we are making to the treatment works in Allendale.

The steel work to the rotating biological contactor (RBC 1) is finished this is used to remove organic matter which is one of the first stages of the treatment system, and we are now filling in the soil around the structure, we are also still working on the steel part of the structure for the rotating biological contactor (RBC 2). We have started setting up molds to shape the concrete walls for the flume chamber which is a structure used to measure the flow rate of water.

Once again we would like to thank you for all of your patience and continued support while we upgrade the treatments works. If you have any questions or you would like further information while the works continue please leave a comment below or use the contact details provided and one of the team will be happy to help.

Thank you

Julie
