Blyth Sewage Treatment Works Refurbishment

We are going to invest £1.3 million to maintain the quality of the River Blyth estuary and coastal waters for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife. The existing sewage treatment works was completely rebuilt in 2000 and in recent years it was discovered that some of the concrete structures have started to show significant deterioration. Our work will repair a concrete structure that is essential for treating wastewater from the Blyth area to make sure the estuary and coastal waters remain in good condition.

Good morning all, it’s been a while since I provided you an update, so here goes….

We are currently working to programme and all being well the work should be compete week ending 26th October 2018.

The concrete repairs in the Distribution Chamber are complete. Over the coming weeks we now need to restore the chamber back to its original pipework, to restore the flows back to the original state and remove the pipe work diversion we put in place.
