Update by Rachel Rutter

Good afternoon,

Hope you have all had a wonderful weekend

The crew's progression continues and in the last few couple of weeks they have completed the following:

  • Excavation and installation of the new cross connection 600 diameter Ductile Iron pipework
  • The team have also installed the formwork/reinforcement and concrete to form the base for proposed hot tap connection onto the existing 800 diameter Water Treatment Works main supply which we are to carry out on Tuesday 30th August 2022
  • They have carried out further excavation to the existing 30-inch scour pipe and removed the existing pipework in readiness for the installation of the new pipework/tee piece & valves
  • Following the above the crew have concreted blinded the excavation and are currently setting up timber formwork and reinforcement in preparation of the installation of the concrete base which is to take place this next week on Wednesday 24th August 2022
  • On the existing Outlet Tunnel, they have carried out advanced works with the removal of the existing security grill/gate and the internal barn door and brick wall in advance of the proposed new valve and associated pipework

To allow the next stage of works to be completed our site team will be closing the Reservoir car park from the 5 September 2022 for a period of 6 weeks.

If anyone would like to discuss our works in more detail, please feel free to contact us by commenting on this post or sending an email to nwl.customer@esh.uk.com.
