Cassop Sewage Treatment Works Upgrade

We are investing £700k to improve the performance of our sewage treatment works at Cassop. The work will involve an upgrade of the storm water storage provision. This will aid NWL in improving the quality of rivers and coastal waters for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife.

Good morning all,

We wanted to take this opportunity to wish all our customers a Merry Christmas and all the very best for 2025.  We would also like to thank you all for your patience and understanding whilst we have carried out our works.

The site teams are taking time off to be with their loved ones over the Christmas and New Year period and will be finishing on Friday 20 December 2024 to return to work on Monday 6 January 2025.

You may see our team onsite next week while they complete further work on the electrical units within the Sewerage Treatment Works.

This section of work will be completed within the week ready for the control panel and ductile pipework to be started in the coming weeks.

Good morning, 

Our team working alongside our contractors will be onsite next week for 2 weeks while they work on the electrical units. 

Further pipework will be installed within the Sewerage Treatment Works. 

As always, we do not anticipate this to cause too much disruption but may see an increase in vehicle activity.

Reinstatements are now complete on the roads and pathways. Trial holes and investigation work are begining Monday for the next two weeks, ready for the second phase of the works to begin on Monday 15 July 2024. Keep an eye out for a further update coming soon.

Over the last week the team have been working on laying the return rising main from the tank to the top of the site. The electric ducts are now in the process of being laid for the return pump while reinstatements have started on the roads and pathways.

Good morning,

The team have recently completed works to the new storm overflow pipe and the final connection into the existing storm overflow chamber has been made and is ready to receive flows once the rest of the works are complete.

This week the crew have commenced works to install the new storm return rising main, with the concrete beening cut along the length of the trench and excavation works ongoing. Next week they will be continuing with this work and start installing the pipework.

Over the last couple of weeks, the team have completed all inlet and spill pipes including the Storm Tank.

Good afternoon,

Hope everyone has had a lovey weekend!

I would just like to take this opportunity to introduce a new member to the team, Alice will be working alongside Christine and I making sure customers are kept informed and to answer any queries.

You may see Alice and I in the area seeing how the work progresses. Please don’t be shy if you see us, we are always happy to chat.

The team have now finished the concrete tank and have started the new drainage works for the inlet and outlet pipes and expect these to be finished by the end of this week.

The concrete pour will be carried out Tuesday 2 April 2024 alongside the pipework installation.
