Deepdale Water Main Renewal, Barnard Castle

We will be investing £900,000 in our strategic trunk mains network. This work will help secure and maintain water supplies into the future, this work will not affect your water supplies.

Planned work

OVERALL THE WORKS ARE MADE UP OF LAYING A NEW 450MM DIAMETER PIPE FROM THE DEEPDALE AQUADUCT PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE WEST BOUND FOR 160 METRES.         

The works are split into three phases:

  1. The laying of a new permanent large diameter pipe from the Western edge of the Deepdale pedestrian bridge 160 metres West on Lartington Lane on the B6277, it will be necessary for  temporary traffic lights for the duration of the pipe-laying works.
  2. Phase 2 will involve laying a temporary pipe on the deck of Deepdale pedestrian bridge, to allow this works to place safely we will need to close the foot bridge, the closure will commence on the 8th January 2018 temporary diversion routes will be notified on site.
  3. Phase 3 will involve the final connections and demobilisation.

Works Programme

Advanced site preparation works - trimming of trees etc. will start on the 30th October.

Temporary traffic lights on the B6277 will be erected on the 13th November, we will remove the traffic lights on 22nd December for the Christmas break returning on the 08th January.

Overall the programme of works is planned to take up to 37 weeks to complete we are aiming to be complete by July 2018.
