GENERAL PROJECT

Eppleby Sewage Treatment Works Upgrade

We are investing £2.5 million to improve the performance of our sewage treatment works at Eppleby. The work will involve an upgrade of the inlet system, process units and flow monitoring. This will aid NWL in improving the quality of rivers and coastal waters for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife.

Update by Bethany Oakley

Good morning,

I hope you’re all well and are settling into 2025.

This is our first update of 2025 for the Eppleby Sewage Treatment Works, and I’m pleased to report that the team on Site have continued with the great progress, and I wanted to share this with you.

The electrical works are progressing as planned and the concrete surround and footpath prep around the Humus Settlement Tank (HST) are well underway.

The additional manhole for diverting flows to the HST has been installed and the distribution chamber weir is complete and 50% benched.

Moving onto the remaining duct chambers, I am pleased to advise that these are now complete.

Time critical works for the balance tank and floating arm installation were completed without issues on 20th January.

As always, if you have any questions regarding the works then please don’t hesitate to add a comment in the box below and a member of the Project Team will respond accordingly.

Take care and speak soon,

Bethany
