Escomb Rising Main

Project to replace a failing pumping main from Escomb Pumping Station to Etherley Moor.

Update by Sarah Jayne Parvin

Good afternoon everyone, we just wanted to provide you with an update as you will have realised our works are nearing completion.

This project involved replacing the failing pumping main pipe from Escomb Pumping Station to Etherley Moor.  This pipe has suffered several bursts since 2006 due to pipe’s age and condition. The new pipeline route is just under 1 mile (1.4km) in length and follows the existing Public footpath, which is now in situ and in service. We have a few outstanding things to complete over the next week or so, which involve erecting fencing around the land we occupied for the site compound and tidying of the area.

Ill follow this up with a further update once we have completed the finishing touches.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience during our works.

Thanks

Sarah Vickers
