GENERAL PROJECT

Esh Winning STW – Chemical Removal

We are investing £4m to improve the performance of our sewage treatment works at Esh Winning STW. The work will involve the installation of new equipment which will provide additional chemical removal before the final effluent is discharged. This will aid NWL in improving the quality of rivers and coastal waters for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife.

Good Morning

I hope you are all well.

Since starting on site, we have made good progress with works all going to plan.

The welfare and offices are all set up, and we have cast the concrete slabs for the chemical dosing kiosks and started the duct work around the site.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be continuing to install ducts for the chemical hoses and electrical cables.

Please refer to the photographs to see the progress.

Update by Jamie Oyebade

Good Afternoon,

Hope you are well?

I wanted to give you an update as to how we are progressing with the survey work at the site.

We have completed drone, topographical and GPR surveys of Esh Winning STW which, when we receive the results, we will be able to use to model the existing works and to aide our design.

The Ground Investigation (GI) survey will commence on 25th September 2023. This will involve digging a series of boreholes and trial pits as well as taking samples to be assessed at the laboratory allow us to understand the ground conditions at the treatment works.

Please feel free to leave a comment below should you have any questions or even if you just wanted to say hello, we will be more than happy to help.

On behalf of the project team, we are looking forward to working in your area.

Kind Regards

Jamie
