GENERAL PROJECT

Lanchester Sewer Treatment Works

As part of the Water Industry National Environmental Programme (WINEP), we will be installing chemical dosing plant (ferric sulphate and sodium hydroxide) and a new tertiary treatment stage to enable the site to meet the forthcoming phosphorous discharge consent. The improvement works will cost around £6.4m, and it’s one of 27 sites within the NWG region to receive this upgrade. Phosphorous is a nutrient and can cause algae to grow in watercourses, reducing biodiversity and river water quality.

Update by Bethany Oakley

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope you’re well and keeping dry in this awful weather…

I wanted to share some information on the great progress that the Site Team have recently achieved.

  • The mecana slab and all associated pipework is now complete.
  • The denora is now complete minus the blower installation which we will be looking to complete on 14th October. We have also completed the ammonia sample chamber complete, minus the metal works.
  • Northern Power Grid completed some work on Site on 24th September.
  • NSAF pumping station is now underway and the DI pipework arrived on 24th September.
  • The Intelect works continue on site and the Mcerts tank and control panel delivered.

Thank you for your continued patience whilst we complete the required works and as always, should you like to ask us any questions or raise any concerns, please don’t hesitate to add a comment in the box below and a member of the Project Team will respond to you.

Take care

Bethany
