GENERAL PROJECT

Lanchester Sewer Treatment Works

As part of the Water Industry National Environmental Programme (WINEP), we will be installing chemical dosing plant (ferric sulphate and sodium hydroxide) and a new tertiary treatment stage to enable the site to meet the forthcoming phosphorous discharge consent. The improvement works will cost around £6.4m, and it’s one of 27 sites within the NWG region to receive this upgrade. Phosphorous is a nutrient and can cause algae to grow in watercourses, reducing biodiversity and river water quality.

Update by Bethany Oakley

Good afternoon, all,

I hope your week is going well so far.

Since my update in February, the Site Team have continued concreting the new road and paths throughout the Sewage Treatment Works (STW). As well as this, Hydrok attended as planned yesterday and will continue today to complete the metal work. We have Northeast Pipeline Solutions on site currently, who have provided the metal work for the NSAF outlet pipework and stilling tubes in both the tertiary pumping station and interstage pumping station.

If you have any questions regarding the work, please don’t hesitate to add comment in the box below and a member of the Project Team will respond accordingly.

Take care and speak soon!

Bethany
