GENERAL PROJECT

Longhorsley Sewage Treatment Works Upgrade

WE ARE INVESTING OVER £850,000 TO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE OF OUR WASTEWATER TREATMENT AT LONGHORSLEY. THIS ESSENTIAL WORK WILL HELP TO IMPROVE THE WATER QUALITY OF THE LONGDIKE BURN FOR THE BENEFIT OF PEOPLE, THE ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE AND ENSURE THAT THE TREATMENT FACILITY CONTINUES TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY EFFECTIVELY.

Update by Paul Davison

Good afternoon and happy New Year, I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas break.

While we are starting the New Year with milder weather, the very cold weather we experienced through December has had an impact on progress as we were unable to pour concrete etc.

Now that we are back on site, we’re looking to pour the main Soneco concrete slab tomorrow, however, this will mean working on Saturday morning to strip the shutters (wooden formwork) once the concrete has had time to initially cure.

Overall the delays experienced in December will extend the construction work by circa 3 weeks and we’re now likely to be complete my mid-February.

Regards
