Update by Paul Rutter
Hi, I’m Paul Rutter and I’m the Project Manager for the investigations we are carrying out around the Middlesbrough area, as part of our Rainwise initiative.
We’re looking to see if there are any potential opportunities to carry out future flood risk reduction projects, by managing surface water better. We need your help too, so that we can better understand what happens in your area when it rains. We want you to tell us about your previous experiences of flooding or any surface water issues that affect you.
You can leave your comments on this update or get in touch using the ‘contact us’ button at the top of the page.
We will also be letting you know about some of the small changes you can make to manage rainwater around your property, to help reduce the risk of flooding locally. If everybody made at least one change, it can all add up to help!
You can find out more about Rainwise, get more tips about what you can do to help, and take a look at the case studies from some of the other areas we’ve worked in across the North East, on www.nwl.co.uk/rainwise.
Over the coming few weeks we’ll be out and about in the area carrying out surveys and collecting data on the sewer network. If you see members of the project team carrying out these investigation works, please do say hello and feel free to chat to them about Rainwise and pass on any local knowledge.
As always, if we do identify any opportunities for flood risk reduction projects in the area, we will let you know and seek your views on our proposals.
Looking forward to speaking with you, either on this community portal or at face to face events.
Thanks
Paul
