GENERAL PROJECT

Mordon Sewage Treatment Works

Together with our supply partner, Interserve, we plan to carry out work to the Sewage Treatment Works at Mordon from Monday 16 September to Friday 14th February 2020. This work is part of a £2 million project of improvements at various sites throughout our network and we are working closely with Interserve to make sure that any disruption while we work at this particular site is kept to a minimum. If you are going to be directly affected by our work, our site team will let you know in advance. Typical working hours will be Monday to Friday, between 8.00am and 6.00pm. During this work, our vehicles will need access to the sewer pumping station which is located off Aycliffe Road. You may see some increase in vehicular movement. Ben Gilbert NWL Project Manager

Project updates

Update by Brian Hall

Hello everyone

Work at Mordon is likely to continue to February now however we will be shutting up for the Christmas break tomorrow (20/12/19) and reopening on our return to work on Monday 6th January 2020. There are contact numbers on our site board if there are any problems. We are finishing off concreting today as the cold weather of the past couple of days caused some delay.

All our best wishes for Christmas and a happy new year

Hello everyone

We are well established on site now and work is proceeding well despite the heavy rain we have had lately that has caused water to run onto the site so conditions have been pretty challenging. There may be more work to do on site than was originally planned; and that with the 8 inches of water on site last week may mean our timescales may have to be extended slightly. It looks like we have a water vole in the beck next to the works, which is lovely but at the moment we cant go anywhere near in case we disturb them. I will keep you posted on how things proceed as we go

Update by Brian Hall

Hello I am am the customer manager for Interserve Construction on this project which we are carrying out with NWL. I have visited Mordon to distribute letters and spoken with some residents about our plans. While our work is going on I will be at the site as much as possible and will be available to talk to about any of your concerns or suggestions you may have. Hopefully we will not cause you any inconvenience or annoyance but please let me know if we do.

We have been busy setting up at site this week and I should have some progress photos for you next week.

There has been an enquiry about us working nightshift but I can confirm we are 8-4 Monday to Friday only, I believe there has been some farm work going on in the fields behind the treatment works in the evenings which may have looked as though it came from our site.
