Northumbrian Water, alongside Mott MacDonald Bentley, are working to improve the sewer network in Rushyford, Ferryhill.
Over the past few months, you will have seen our contractors carrying out investigation work to help understand the underlying ground conditions and identify the location of buried services in the local area which has helped develop our planned solution.
The solution will include the construction of a new section of surface water sewer from 2 Rookery Gardens out onto the old road and down past School Cottages.
While a road closure will not be required to install our drainage work, we will need to temporarily close the footpath on both sides of the street at the entrance to Rookery Gardens to allow sufficient room to maintain vehicular access to the cul-de-sac.
For the duration of the works, alternative pedestrian access to Rookery Gardens will be via the existing designated crossing on Middridge Road.
Work will begin on Monday 30 September 2019 and we expect to be substantially complete by Friday 20 December 2019.
At Northumbrian Water, we work to make a difference in your community.
Have you considered a career that can help you do the same?
As well as the teams you see working in your streets, we have people doing a wide range of jobs that support that work to deliver the best possible water and sewerage services across the North East.
