Project updates

Update by Sarah Jayne Parvin

Good morning hope you have been enjoying the weather this week!

A quick update to advise what we have left to do before we leave site. All the pipework in now fully installed and pressure tested, there are some further tests to take place over the coming weeks. once all the tests and checks are complete we can abandon the old pipe and start to back fill and reinstate all the open excavations which is planned to start WC 3rd June 19 with a view for us to be cleared from site mid-June. Once we have left and demobilised, other utility companies will be in the area, and if you have any questions in relation to their works you will need to contact Gateshead Council.

Any questions in relation to these works please don’t hesitate to comment below, or us the contact us function at the top of the page.

Thanks for your patience throughout our works.

Good afternoon all, as you will have noticed we have been on site a little longer than planned we have a new site clear date which is 17th May 2019. This is because the original scope of works has changed as the work has developed.

Our team had the pleasure of going into The Gateshead Cheder and presenting to the children. This focused on the project we are delivering at Sunderland Road, as well as giving the students an over site of what each of the job’s roles involve. The students then had the chance to walk with our staff, to see the work for themselves, this also give the students an opportunity for questions. From the feedback I have received I would say this was a success for everyone involved. I have attached below a letter our team received on behalf of all the students.

As always if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us on the 'contact us' at the top of the page.

Thanks

Good morning all, work is progressing well on site and this week we are pressure testing the pipe laid from the Felling bypass to Aldi. Once the pressure testing is complete we can start to reinstate the excavations.  As well as the pressure testing there is going to be a short water isolation 2.45hrs on this side of the bypass, which will affect a small number of buildings, you will be notified if this will included your address by the close of play Wednesday 13th Feb. Work will continue on the high street side which will include excavations, valve changes and pressure testing. I have added a few photos below.

As always if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us on the 'contact us' at the top of the page.

Thanks

We have been in liaising with The Gateshead Cheder School, and we are in the process of agreeing dates where we can visit the school to engaged with the students.

We will give the students an overview of what it is were doing at Sunderland road, a site walk around and also deliver an activity building a paper dowel bridge. Hopefully this will inspire the students to consider a career in engineering!

Work had been progressing well, which hasn’t been without it complications! Up until the festive holidays we will be carrying out trail holes outside of Computer House. We break up for the holidays on the 21st December and will return in the New Year.

Good morning all, as you will see we have moved into Sunderland Road this week to carry out the water mains diversion. There is traffic management in places, as well as some footpath closures, which have been put in place for the public's safety. There have been a few observations over the last week, were people are walking along the road rather than the alternate footpaths. Although this road is usually quiet, could we please ask you to use alternative routes/footpaths displayed.

As always if you have any question please don’t hesitate to contact us on here, or alternatively you can speak to one of the guys on site who will be happy to help.

Thank you and enjoy your weekend!
