WATER NETWORK IMPROVEMENT

Tyneside Water Network Improvements

Northumbrian Water are embarking upon an investment of over £6m in our strategic trunk mains water network in Northumberland, North Tyneside, Newcastle and Gateshead. This project is known as Pipeline Management.

Investing in our water network

IN JULY 2017 AT A NUMBER OF STRATEGIC LOCATIONS WITHIN TYNESIDE AND NORTHUMBERLAND WE WILL COMMENCE OUR PIPELINE MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME.

This will be the start of our £6m investment in our strategic trunk mains water network, working with our two of our construction partners MMB and Esh/MWH, we will be installing twenty two electrically controlled valves (EOV’s) at strategic locations within our large diameter water network.

These installations will ultimately allow better operability,  remote operation along with better flexibility within our trunk mains network it will also build on the trunk mains cleaning programme completed last year with the ultimate aim to reduce and minimise discoloured water from customers taps.
