Washington Sewage Treatment Works Refurbishment

As part of a £14 million investment, we will be carrying out work to improve the performance and reliability of Washington Sewage Treatment Works. This work will ensure it continues to provide the highest standards of service for the local community.

It's been a while since I last shared an update with you all.

The construction of the Final Settlement Tanks (FST's) are still ongoing. The engineering of the scraper bridges has now been complete. The scraper bridge is a metal structure which sits within the FST's which rotates slowly around the tank and scrapes the settled sludge from the floor of the tank. Please see the photos I have included, this shows you what these look like.
