Update by Jane Cooper
Hello,
Please find latest updates together with progress photos, from our Witton Gilbert project.
As part of the Water Industry National Environmental Programme (WINEP), we will be installing new tertiary treatment plant to enable the site to contribute to a catchment wide reduction in phosphorous discharges. The improvement works will cost around £2.3m, and it’s one of 27 sites within the NWG region to receive an upgrade. Phosphorous is a nutrient and can cause algae to grow in watercourses, reducing biodiversity and river water quality.

Hello. My name is Jane Cooper and I am the Customer Experience Coordinator for Galliford Try. Our Project Manager is John Goose.
Our project team has recently set up the site. We have upgraded the farmers access track which the construction delivery drivers will utilise to avoid passing the church and Coach Lane.
In the coming months we will progress with installing temporary treatment along with removing existing Northumbrian Water assets.
We will provide updates as they happen, together with photos so you can see progression of the site.
