The work will necessitate the removal of trees including non-native conifers that were planted in the reserve in the 1970s. The work is planned to maximise benefits for wildlife, including songbird species such as long tailed tit and chiff chaff and invertebrates such as the rare dingy skipper by reshaping the natural environment.

"Where has the sunshine gone?"

Just to let you know our civil and engineering work is expected to be complete by the end of the month (I can hear the hoorays!)...........that is the good news,

the not so good news is it is likely we will still be around after June for a little longer. We will be working alongside Natural England, planting and seeding so we can bring the Dene back to it's former glory.

Once again, thank you for your co-operation and patience during our presence but the end is really in sight.
