The construction phase of this project is now complete.
There may still be updates, so the project will remain here. We are still monitoring the project and will reply to any comments. So if you have any questions please feel free to comment or contact us here.
The work will necessitate the removal of trees including non-native conifers that were planted in the reserve in the 1970s. The work is planned to maximise benefits for wildlife, including songbird species such as long tailed tit and chiff chaff and invertebrates such as the rare dingy skipper by reshaping the natural environment.
With large construction work it is inevitable that there will be some disruption in the immediate vicinity of the work. There will also be an increase in heavy traffic in the area, with vehicles transporting materials to and from the working sites and site compound.
The construction work we undertake can involve the use of large machinery, road cutting equipment, digging up ground, pouring concrete and working with granular materials. It is inevitable these activities will result in some dust, vibration and noise. The site team will do everything they can to minimise any inconvenience caused by this and will make sure that the work is carried out safely.
We closely work with the council to minimise disruption and ensure an appropriate level of traffic management will be in place where necessary.
It is likely that some residents will not be able to access their properties from the road at some stage during the work. When this affects you, we will contact you before access is restricted. Pedestrian access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.
If you require any special assistant because of this restricted access, please contact our customer centre on 0345 717 000.
We would like residents to park in nearby streets when they can’t access their drives. We recognise that some insurance companies ask for cars to be parked off roads during different periods of the day. It is our experience that insurance companies understand that during work of this type, this is not always possible.
We always suggest that you contact your individual insurance company if you have any concerns with regard to insurance matters.
We have no plans to disrupt your water supply while we work this project. In the unlikely event that the team accidently disrupts the water supply, our clean water response team will be notified immediately and emergency repairs planned.
Please call us on 0345 717 1100 or tweet @nwater_care. We will be pleased to help you.
