Castle Eden Dene, Peterlee

The work will necessitate the removal of trees including non-native conifers that were planted in the reserve in the 1970s. The work is planned to maximise benefits for wildlife, including songbird species such as long tailed tit and chiff chaff and invertebrates such as the rare dingy skipper by reshaping the natural environment.

Update by Colin Butler

Good Morning folks,

A quick update to let you all know that the original footpath which we have been using as an access road is now up and running and the temporary footpath is removed. We are currently retopsoiling this and the end is truly in sight! We have a couple of aesthetic things to do on site, the shafts will be covered up this week and reinstatement can begin in earnest. As ever, please don't hesitate to contact me at Colin.Butler@mm-b.co.uk if there are any questions, queries or issues.

Thanks

Colin
