Hello,

Since the last update, works have kept going even though we have had the wettest Winter for 35 years!

The scheme is still on track to be completed as per the original program, to end in/around August 2024.

Hello

I’d like to introduce the team from Galliford Try that will be completing the work at Fishburn on behalf of Northumbria Water. My name is Jane Cooper, and I am the Customer Experience Coordinator for Galliford Try. Our Site Manager is Stephen Rudkin and our Project Manager is John Goose.

Since commencing on site early December, the team have worked through some horrendous weather conditions but have tried to maintain progress. The team completed the site set up ahead of the Christmas shutdown to ensure a good start in the new year. During this month (January), the  team have been carrying out the bulk excavations and stoning operations to the proposed chemical dosing/tertiary treatment and roads ways.

The team have also been excavating and building the proposed new Pumping station.

Update by Paul Davison

Work started on the 4th December on the upgrade work to the treatment works.

With agreement from Durham CC, we’ve established a temporary site set up just outside the works and created an additional area for parking. Please note that access to adjacent footpaths will be maintained throughout the construction phase, however, caution should be taken when crossing the access track.

We’ll be shutting down for the Christmas period on Wednesday 20th December and will return on Tuesday 2nd January when we’ll start to progress the upgrade works within the site.

Best wishes over the Christmas and New Year

Good morning and apologies, we've not updated the portal for a quite a while now.

We wrote to customers back in September to confirm that we have now secured business approval for the upgrade works and are progressing with the detailed design.  We plan to start construction work in December 2023 and expect the upgrade works to take up to 8 months to complete. Now that we are preparing to move into the construction phase, we'll make sure to kee pthe portal updated regularly so you can see how we are getting on.

Again, don't hesitate to contact us either via the 'Contact Us' tab above or comment on this post and we'll get back to you.

Thanks
