Heworth Burn

Working closely with Gateshead council, we are looking to invest up to £4 million to upgrade our sewers and highway drainage in the Heworth area.

Great news, the temporary fencing is down in the long stay car park and the vast majority of our working area has been re-surfaced and white lined. As of today, we’ve opened up almost 90 parking bays just in time for that last minute shopping trip. We’d just like to say a huge thank you for your patience and understanding while we’ve been completing our construction work and hope the extra capacity comes in handy in the coming weeks.

We will need to return in the New Year to complete and commission the new pumping station but we wouldn’t need to take up any car parking bay and can work within our much smaller fenced off area around the new station.

We also expect to be largely complete across on Sunderland Road and hope to have 90% of the car park next to the Swan pub reinstated and open by Friday 20 December with again, minor work to complete in the New Year including reinstating a short section of the perimeter wall and footpath on Sunderland Road.
