River Gaunless, Bishop Auckland

We are investing up to £9 million to improve Butterknowle, Cockfield and Ramshaw sewage treatment works. Starting in December 2018 and likely to continue to December 2019. These works will improve the quality of the water in the River Gaunless and will not involve any disruption to the wastewater service in the area. Just a quick update before we break up for Christmas.

Cockfield and Ramshaw – On site works are complete. We are now finalising commissioning work and expect to remove the cabin set at the end of January / early February.

Butterknowle – we are currently back on site carrying out some additional drainage works. Once this is completed we are going to complete the on-site works and upgrade the access track. This will be carried out early January 2020. Commissioning works are currently on-going. We expect to be complete early February.

We finish for Christmas Friday 20th December and return on Monday 6th January.
