The construction phase of this project is now complete.

We are investing up to £9 million to improve Butterknowle, Cockfield and Ramshaw sewage treatment works. Starting in December 2018 and likely to continue to December 2019. These works will improve the quality of the water in the River Gaunless and will not involve any disruption to the wastewater service in the area. Just to update you on progress. All 3 sites are now fully commissioned and operational. We are busy closing areas down the best we can. However due to the recent wet weather we are still unable to compete the landscaping. This will be carried out mid-April. The disruption then will be minimal.
