Project updates

Update by Rachel Rutter

Good Afternoon,

As mentioned previously we were preparing for the installation of the sheet piles to the excavation which have now been installed. There will be ongoing works which will be to reduce the ground level within the sheet piled excavation, this will generate approx 1000t of excavation arisings that will have to be removed from site.

Once the excavation is complete we will be moving onto the reinforced concrete structure that will house the new tertiary treatment plant.

If you have any queries at all regarding our work in your area, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you

Rachel

Good afternoon,

I have spoken to our site team who have advised that the existing slab has now been broken out and removed from site for recycling.  The existing site wash water has been diverted around our area of excavation and a lighting column has been disconnected and removed. This week we are continuing with work for the preparation and installation of the earthworks support (sheet piles and bracing frames).

Thank you

Christine

Good afternoon,

My name is Christine Taylor, Customer Service Manager for Esh-Stantec.  Our team on site have provided an update of our progress on site.

We are now on site, and have been working on the establishment of site office and welfare set up.  The team have carried out trial holes to locate existing services,.  The temporary site access turning area for HGVs is also now in place.

They have been saw cutting existing concrete slabs and commenced breaking out of concrete slabs.

In future weeks our works will involve continuing breaking out concrete and remove from site for recycling, the diversion of on-site service wash water then moving on to main excavation works to reduce ground by 4m deep to allow for installation of process unit further along the programme.

I hope everyone enjoys their Easter Break.

Christine
