The team are progressing well. Last week the following has been completed:

  • The tertiary treatment plant has now been installed along with all interconnecting pipework.
  • They are currently in the process of commissioning the treatment plant to allow it to be brought online in the coming days now that the electrical installation has been completed.
  • To facilitate the above works a temporary diversion of site flows had to be installed. The site team alongside Northumbrian Water to ensure the diversion was carried out in a timely manner without any major issues or any impact on the quality of treated effluent.

Update by Christine Taylor

Good afternoon

Please see below an update from the team on site.

Excavation was dug to proposed formation, it was found that there was an organic layer of material which needed to be removed.  This resulted in a slight delay as a review of our current works design with regards to working methods, it has now been revised to allow us to excavate to a greater depth than originally anticipated and remove the organic layer of material.  We have now started backfilling with a granular material to allow us to commence construction of the concrete structure from next week.

Good afternoon,

Following our last update, we have been advised by the site team that whilst carrying out the excavation works and piling installation, the team encountered unchartered services and physical obstructions such as redundants structures.  This has resulted in a delay in our work and will impact on our completion date.  We were hoping to have completed the works early July 2022, however our completion date will be 22 August 2022.
