GENERAL PROJECT

Storm Overflows Environmental Improvements

To improve the resilience and enhance the performance of the sewer network in Northumbrian Water is investing in the overflows in West Rainton, Ludworth, Bishop Auckland and Skelton. This work will ensure we deliver sewerage services that meet the needs of current and future generations whilst improving the quality of our rivers and watercourses for the benefit of people, the environment and wildlife.

Update by Rachel Rutter

Good afternoon,

Esh have been making every effort to have the work outside the school completed prior to the school returning, in order to minimise distruption. We anticipate the upstream manhole will be build by Tuesday 3 September, with the traffic management in front of the school cleared for Wednesday 4 September.

A temporary reinstatement on the road is in place and a permanent reinstatement will be completed later in the year.

Pipe installation will begin towards the end of road, close to the compound on Wednesday 4 September. Once the sewer installation is complete on Moor Crescent, the team will be moving onto Barnard Avenue to undertake further surface water separation work.

Please contact us direct if you have any questions at nwl.customer@esh.uk.com

Have a lovely weekend!

Rachel
