GENERAL PROJECT

Wark on Tyne Sewage Treatment Works upgrade

Working with our framework partner, MMB, we are investing £3M to improve the performance of our sewage treatment works at Wark on Tyne village.

Update by Julie Oakley

Good morning Everyone,

Is everyone ready for Santa?.

As Christmas quickly approaches we thought we would give you an update before the holidays on the progress we have made on the Wark Treatment works.

Since the last update we have reinstated the bottom section of site and tidied it up and wired up the new penstocks, they will now work automatically based on the flows coming into the site, the reason for this is it allows us to meet the EA consents for the site with the amount of flows that are being treated. We will also be carrying out additional investigation works into existing assets around the site. The demobilising on site is ongoing so there will be no construction works happening over Christmas. We will be returning to site for 2 weeks worth of work at the end of February, however dates are still to be confirmed.

We would like to once again thank you all for your continued support while the project was ongoing, if you have any questions or queries please feel free to leave a comment below or use the details provided to give us a call and one of the team will be happy to help. If you require any assistance over the Christmas break please use the following contact number 0345 717 1100.

On behalf of Northumbrian Water and MMB we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank you

Julie
