GENERAL PROJECT

Warkworth Stanners SPS Refurbishment

Warkworth Stanners Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) is in close proximity to the River Coquet and is prone to flooding, therefore it requires an upgrade to comply with NWG’s commitment to deliver investment that increases its wastewater resilience. We will be investing £600k refurbishing the SPS to protect the environment in Warkworth, and work will be undertaken together with our supply partner, RetroFlo.

Will my water supply be affected?

We do not plan to disrupt your water supply while work is carried out on this project.

Will the work cause disruption?

What will it look like when the works are complete?

The work will refurbish an operational site, but the appearance of the site will be very similar to how it looks now.  We will reinstate any damage caused to access roads and tracks during the work.

Will there be dust, vibration and noise?

The site team will do everything they can to minimise any inconvenience caused by this and will make sure that the work is carried out safely.

Will the roads be kept clean during the works?

The work will involve disposal of materials, as a result of the works, which may cause dirt on the roads. The site team will employ a road cleaning specialist with mechanical road sweepers, should this be required, which will be used to maintain the roads affected.
