Project updates

Update by Joan Tatters

Good Morning,

Yes, I know it's been a while...........

Peter has asked me to post an update on his behalf, so here goes.......

Most of the civils now on the original work is almost complete although as part of an efficiency and because the work conducted so far has been great Northumbrian Water has asked us to build the a new meter and chamber on the mains. This won't affect your supply so don't worry and it will be within the confines of the treatment grounds. That said it will be a challenge not just because of the size but the location is between some trees which will need to be removed. We are really environmentally friendly and we will make sure when reinstating the land we will plant extra trees and include some shrubs to create a screen around the work.

Peter kindly has sent over some photos, (showing off) highlighting the complete work and it's plain to see the cleanliness and how tidy the work is. Yes admittedly it's not of the beautiful surroundings adjacent to the works but it does show off his teams great work.

Hello

It has been a little while since I posted, Jodie did a great job so here goes.....

Most of the the heavy civils work is now complete and next year we will be paying more attention to commissioning and filter work, this will lessen the traffic flow and the noise. We hope we haven't been too much of an nusiance throughout 2017 as we have tried really hard to minimise any disruption caused.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for 2018

Afternoon All,

Following the 'Just an Hour' voluntary scheme with NWL at the Warkworth primary school I have some progress photos as promised. We possibly chose the wrong day to do this is it was very wet and windy but the results were good and we managed to get the poly-tunnel erected!

We plan on going back to the school in the coming weeks to finish off some snagging items and I shall take some more photos to show the finished project.

Morning All,

This week at Warkworth we have been working on a small voluntary project for the local primary school. We visited the head teacher a few weeks ago and asked if there was anything that we would be able to help with that would fall under our joint voluntary programme with NWL. As it turns out, some time ago Warkworth primary school were donated a poly tunnel that up until now had sat in it's box. MMB & NWL offered to construct the tunnel for them and carry out some other minor works at the site. I have attached some photos and look forward to showing you the finished product!

Afternoon All,

Recently at Warkworth WTW we have been continuing with our improvement works and running slightly ahead of schedule.

We have a lot of electrical sub-contractors on site working on the controls that power the water treatment plant and machinery. We have also been working on reinstating some of the areas of the treatment works where we have completed our improvements.

I will upload some progress photos to my next update.

Many thanks,

Jodie

Good Morning,

A short update from Warkworth. Despite the bad weather recently, we have been making good progress on site. We have also been monitoring the site entrance and access road to make sure this is clean and free from debris as the wet weather usually generates lots of mud!

Following the successful delivery of the large kiosk at the end of May, we are working on the area that surrounds this which will eventually seat another smaller kiosk.

We have also been reviewing the total hours worked on our site since the beginning of the project. So far on Warkworth WTW we have worked over 6000 hours without any accidents or incidents which is always our aim as safety is our main priority.

I hope to be able to update you with some more progress photos soon.

Update by Jodie Pickering

Morning All,

This week we are expecting the delivery of a large kiosk that will house telemetry and control various parts of the water treatment process. We expect this delivery to take place on Thursday of this week (25th). Along side this there will be the presence of a large crane which will be used to lift the kiosk from the delivery vehicle into its permanent place. This should be a very straight forward in and out process and we envisage this causing minimal disruption to Warkworth and the surrounding area.

I will upload some photographs at the end of the week showing the kiosk and the lifting operation.

Many thanks for your patience.

Hi Everyone,

This week we have continued with our work on the large kiosk base - some photos are attached. We have erected some scaffolding in preparation for the removal of old and installation of new equipment in one of the main treatment buildings too.

Also, Joan Tatters (MMB) & I visited the local primary school as part of both ours and NWL's scheme to help out within the local community. We have arranged to meet with the head teacher in a few weeks time to discuss how we can assist the school. I look forward to updating you further.
