Whitton Village Sewer Diversion

Northumbrian Water is looking to investing £2M to improve the resilience and enhance the performance of the sewer network in Whitton Village Northumberland.

Update by Ian Davison

Hi

Just a quick note to advise that as part of the project, we need to investigate the location and depth of all underground services along the route of the proposed new sewer and rising main (pumped sewer).

This work will involve the use of machinery to excavate shallow inspection pits / trenches within the road and verge to expose and record buried utility cables and pipelines. Traffic lights will be required while this work takes place, but the road will remain open and access maintained to all properties. The highway will be fully reinstated upon completion.

The plan shows the locations of the trial holes. This work is planned to commence on 16 March 2020 and will take up to two weeks to complete. The site team will do everything they can to minimise any inconvenience caused by this and will make sure that the work is carried out safely. Once we are on site, if you are going to be directly affected by our work, our site team will contact you in advance.

Many Thanks

Ian
