Whitton Village Sewer Diversion

Northumbrian Water is looking to investing £2M to improve the resilience and enhance the performance of the sewer network in Whitton Village Northumberland.

LOOKING AFTER THE ENVIRONMENT IS ONE OF OUR TOP PRIORITIES. AS PART OF THIS COMMITMENT WE ARE DEVELOPING A PROPOSAL TO ENSURE THAT OUR SEWER NETWORK CONTINUES TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY EFFECTIVELY WHILST IMPROVING THE ENVIRONMENT THAT WE ALL WANT TO PROTECT.

We continue to investigate options to address environmental risk, this project will improve the performance of the sewer network serving the village. As the project develops we will share our ideas with you to understand your views about this work and how we can minimise any disruption that you and your community may experience once the work is underway.

We have identified an opportunity to construct a new pumping station and rising main (pumped sewer) and are developing these proposals towards construction. Please see ‘Planned works’ for more information about the current proposal.
