GENERAL PROJECT

Kelloe Upgrade

Starting in Autumn 2022, as part of a £6.4 million scheme, we will be carrying out essential work to improve the performance of our wastewater treatment works in Kelloe. The scheme will help to improve the water quality of the Coxhoe Beck, as well as the watercourses downstream. We are yet to confirm an exact date when the works will commence, however this is likely to be early October 2022 to commence ground stabilisation works, however we will confirm this closer to the date.

Update by Rachel Rutter

Good morning,

I thought I would just pop on here to say thank you to the Lighthouse Club for spending time with our site teams on Thursday 27 April at Kelloe Sewerage Treatment Works.

They shared their stories and the wonderful work both them and the company do for members of the construction industry.

We are very grateful to have this level of support available to us and wish them all the best in their future work.

For more information on the services they provide please visit www.constructionindustryhelpline.com

Good afternoon,

Hope you have had a lovely weekend!

Last week on site the crew have continued with the installation of the rising main to the upper section of the site. They have also commenced the installation of the new drainage line which will run from the new tanks installed to the new tertiary treatment plant.

The work will continue this week and the team will also be trimming trees and hedges on the access track to site. This is to make it wider for the lorries who will attend now and after the crew leave site. Due to this you may see an increase in wagons visiting site with deliveries.

The crew continued to progress with work, please see the following update:

Works to the below ground rising main have commenced and the crew have completed installation to the bottom section of the site.

The team are currently working on reprofiling the top section of site by lowering the ground level and will then move onto completing the rising main in this area.

There will be several HGV wagons removing spoil and delivering stone, I am sorry for any disruption this may cause.

Good afternoon

Works last week, continue with desludge pipeline installation. The first part has now been excavated and pipework installed and partially back filled, this element was particularly challenging due to all the existing service crossings and high levels of ground water and very cold weather.

This week will see the removal of shoring from site and excavations being backfilled and made safe prior to Christmas break. Plant and equipment will be getting collected and removed from site during the week which will result in various HGV calling to site.

On Friday 23 December 2022 the site will close down for the Christmas and New Year period. Our site team will return to work on Monday 9 January 2023. Northumbrian Water will be in contact in the New Year to provide a further update on the progress of our works.

We want to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
