Wooler Water Treatment Works

As part of our ongoing investment programme and to ensure the highest level of customer service, we are planning to construct a new Water Treatment Works (WTW) at Wooler, Northumberland. It is intended that the new WTW will be located in the town of Wooler, at a site opposite Berwick Road Industrial Estate . The construction is expected to start in spring 2020.

This weeks update..........

The team worked until 7pm on Saturday evening to make sure the trial holes were all done for Monday. I understand the tarmacing will be complete today and the lights removed.


Treatment Building - The installation of the pipe work within the main area continues, including the ducts, pipes and drains in the North West corner. More in depth work has continued to fix the shutters to the slab and further shutters onto the cable pit ready for the pouring of concrete. (photo)

 Contact Tank: - Finished part of the base for the main channels and a concrete pour plusP started fixing the steel to the wall stitches. (photo)

Washwater Settlement Tank: - Continued with the works within the chamber, making it ready for backfilling of the intermediate slope base slab in the west chamber.
