Project updates

Update by Becky Gartland

Good afternoon,

It has been a little while since we provided you with an update so wanted to bring you up to date with what has been happening on site over the last few weeks.

You will see that a section of the car park at the rear of Enterprise House has been sectioned off to allow us to complete the sewer relay works which will remain in place throughout the project.

An area adjacent to Enterprise House has also been sectioned off in order for us to excavate and commence our works on relaying a section of the sewerage pipework. Over the past couple of weeks the site team have encountered a number of unchartered services during our excavation works which has had an impact on our progress in this area. Works are expected to continue on this section into January 2022.

From Friday 17 December 2021 our site team will suspend working for the Christmas and New Year period, resuming on Tuesday 4 January 2022. Our customer team will remain operational during this time, so if you have any queries related to the site, please feel free to comment on this post or alternatively call us on 0345 717 1100.

Thank you

Becky

Update by Christine Taylor

Good afternoon,

I just wanted to pop on here and introduce myself and a couple of our team.  My name is Christine Taylor, the Customer Service Manager for Esh Stantec.  You may have seen me on site over the last year whilst we have carried out investigations, and over the last few weeks when I came to site to meet with a few residents.

Over the period of our works, I will available to assist with any queries our customers may have.  Becky Gartland is our Customer liaison officer who is also on hand to assist.

Our Contracts Manager, Scott Jackson will be overseeing the construction work on site.  Scott has a wealth of experience in construction and is more than happy to talk to anyone who is interested in the works we are carrying out.

We will aim to update our customers via this portal throughout the works.

Update by Colin Short

Hello everyone, my name is Colin Short, and I'm Northumbrian Water's Project Manager for this project.

A quick summary of the project, is that over the years, a surface water and foul sewer which currently run in the service road immediately next to the 'Black & Decker' factory/backing onto the car parking area next to Unit 1 Enterprise City, have deteriorated and need to be replaced.  The replacement sewers need to be laid ‘off-line’ and will be approximately 7m further away from the factory, mainly in the car park area between Unit 1 Enterprise City and Enterprise House, with the remainder just beyond the set of security gates North of Enterprise House.

Our framework partner Esh-Stantec will be carrying out this work, and we’ll be starting on Monday 22 November 2021 and expect to be all finished by Friday 18 March 2022.

We’ll be working closely with the nearby business units, and will be providing various updates, but we’d really like to hear from you if you have any queries or concerns over any part of this work.

Take care everyone.

Colin
