GENERAL PROJECT

Castle Eden Dene Sewer

The project will reduce the risk of flooding and pollution in Castle Eden Dene by providing additional capacity in the sewer network in the Sunny Blunts area of Peterlee.

Update by Joan Tatters

Good Afternoon,

Just following on from Sarah's last up date I thought I'd take the opportunity to introduce myself, I am Joan Tatters. Sarah is moving onto a different project over in the Gateshead area and I am pleased to say I will be seeing this project through until it's completion. Good Luck Sarah!!!

Works have progressed well on both sides of the site. The Northern side has seen all of the embankment reinstated, ready for topsoil to be replaced and the Pavilion fencing is currently under construction with view to finish the fencing by 24th March. The footpath around the perimeter of the Pavilion field has been reinstated to it's original state, we hope to have this open for public access by 31th March.

The southern side tank install has now finished, with the final manhole to be constructed before the reinstatement works can fully commence. We expect to start reinstating this area in early May.

The embankment works within the Dene are on programme to start for 27th March, the footpath will be closed to public access for approx. 8 weeks. Both Sarah and I posted information around the site just to remind you about the closure and we took some photos to show the land slide on the embankment which I'm sure you will agree needs addressing.

Oh and this is me........haha

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contacta me, I'd be happy to help and as always thank you for your co-operation and understanding during this time.
