GENERAL PROJECT

Castle Eden Dene Sewer

The project will reduce the risk of flooding and pollution in Castle Eden Dene by providing additional capacity in the sewer network in the Sunny Blunts area of Peterlee.

Update by Joan Tatters

Good Afternoon,

Here is this month's update from Alex and the team:-

On the South (Tank) side of site we have excavated out for a flow control unit to be installed downstream from the storage tank. The excavation is 7m deep overall and we currently have the concrete base and the first manhole ring in place. We expect to be out of the ground with the manhole within the next 10 days. The embankment stabilisation works have now been completed and the footpath is open as usual. The repair works to the embankment has been reinstated with topsoil and seed and should hopefully see some flowers coming through in the next few weeks. The drainage and footpath has been fully reinstated with a small section of the footpath re-laid around an existing manhole cover to remove the bump in the path that was there before.

Thank you once again for your support and understanding
