GENERAL PROJECT

Heads Hope Dene, Co. Durham

This project is to reduce the risk of pollution to Head Hope Dene. A range of solutions are being investigated to reduce the risk of pollution caused by flooding from the sewer due to blockages, and land slip. Construction is programmed for 2021/22.

Update by Gabrielle Ward

Good afternoon,

Work on the SPS (Sewage Pumping Station) is continuing to progress well. The concrete base for the kiosk and valve chamber has been laid, and the kiosk installation is complete. The topsoil has been laid around the batters (see photo below), while the road to the SPS is currently ongoing.

I have included a photo of 'manhole 5' which has been connected to the existing sewer, and the surrounding concrete has been poured.

Our subcontractor, Active Tunelling, have also been busy carrying out the probing works from manhole 2 to manhole 3 (connecting the pipe between the two manholes).

Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions via the comment section below, and a member of our project team will get back to you.

We hope you all enjoy your long weekend and Jubilee celebrations!
