Project updates

Update by Paul Davison

Hello, I want to let you know of further planned investigation work which will be carried out by our contractor, Mott MacDonald Bentley on behalf of Northumbrian Water.

The work is scheduled to start on Sunday 18 November 2018 and  expect this to take up to 5 weeks to complete.  This will include weekend work over three consecutive Sundays on 18 November, 25 November and 2 December.

As part of the investigation works, we will be carrying out trial holes to gather information on existing underground utilities and obtain further information on  ground conditions.  The works will be focused around Sunderland Road, the Swan Pub car park and the land/ long stay car park off Low Heworth Lane.

Most of the works will take place off the main highway however traffic management will be necessary on Sunderland Road during the weekend dates stated above. A number of parking bays will be temporarily suspended to allow us to complete the work safely. Please be assured that your water supply will not be affected by this work.

Regards Paul
