Project updates

Update by Amanda Hunt

Morning Everyone

Joan isn’t around today and in her absence I wanted to let you know that our contractors and sub-contractors need to complete some operational work this weekend.

So you may see us working in the area along with some low level noise and an increase in vehicles accessing our site but be assured that this work will have no impact to your water supply and no large construction vehicles will be accessing site through Horsey Village.

As always thank you in advance for your understanding whilst we work in your area and please do not hesitate to get in touch using the contact us button above to speak to a member of the project team

Warmest regards

Amanda

Good Morning All,

Yesterday I was in the village dropping in a letter regarding the potential weekend work.

To complete this phase of work it's likely we will need to work the occasional Saturday to ensure we finish in November. The work will be Saturdays only between 8-1300hrs and you may notice some increase in activity, some low level background noise and temporary lighting. We will do all we can to minimise any disruption and please be assured there will be vehicles passing through the village.

Thank you again for your continual understanding and patience. Feel free to drop me a line if you need to ask any questions.

Good Morning All,

Just thought I'd share the video of the Jubiliee Celebrations at the beginning of the month (sorry for the delay as wanted to ensure we had the correct authority). MMB donated some "pinatas" which the children clearly enjoyed...........hahaha. It looked great and the weather was kind too.

Good Morning All,

One or two of you have asked me or expressed concern about the large overland pipe in the field from Horsley Water Treatment Works to Kitty Burn and what it is doing.

It's basically taking excess cleaned water from the treatment works across the fields whilst the new tanks are being built on site so I just wanted to reassure you we are very conscious of the water condition and the Enviroment Agency and Northumbrian Water are frequently monitoring its quality and the discharge license has been granted.

Here are a few photos and a video you may wish to see:-

Good Afternoon All,

It's been a while since my last update..............

Just thought I'd give you a synposis of the work we have successfully complete over the last few months:-

  • The 1.8km overland pipe was successfully installed (this involved 24/7 working with two teams) this was to assist in the commissioning of the "run to waste"
  • A low pressure service pre-cast chamber installed........holds 60,000litres of water for the reservoir that will be pumped through Berny Hill Pumping Station
  • New connection investigation works on the eastern and western mains to the north of the site.

Those were just a few of the ongoing works here at Horsley. If you want to know further details please feel free to drop me a line. Thanks again to the residents of Horsley, we appreciate you patience.

Good Morning,

It would seem the high winds have calmed down somewhat and I do hope you haven't incurred any damage or upset as a result.

I thought I would take the time to thank the customer who contacted Northumbrian Water to let us know about some of our fencing along Ovingham Road had fallen over. Our team have sorted them and secured them further.

Sorry if this caused any issues and disruption.

Stay safe, thank you.

Good Afternoon,

Just a final update for 2021,

The team have really been challenged these last few weeks and have been working intensley to ensure the programme is kept on track which have paid off as the new Actiflo is now feeding water into the network.

The lads will continue to work during the Xmas holidays so if you see them please say "Hello" as they will probably want to see a friendly face during that time.

Just remains for me to say "Happy Holidays" and Best Wishes for 2022.

Stay safe

The Project Team.

Good Morning,

Just a brief update this week............

  • Works are progressing well with the 1st stage of the new build and will hopefully achieve the water output in the next few weeks, thankfully the 24/7 work is complete.
  • The new fence will be complete by Christmas.
  • A new pipeline has been placed into the culvert at Kitty's burn to assist the works in getting water quality maintains the acceptable level.

Don't forget to ask me any questions you may have.

Good Morning,

I would just like to let you know the night shift work is now complete opposite Ovingham pumping station and I do hope it hasn't been too much inconvenience for you.

We still have some work to do today but are hopeful to get things finished soon so with that in mind we are keeping the traffic lights on for another day or so.

Driving to site this morning I notice the local authority were also introducing some traffic management towards Ovingham so please take extra care.

Thank you again for your understanding and patience.
