Project updates

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

I've visited site today to catch up with Mac. You may have noticed that things have been a little quiet on site for the last few of days. We have encountered unforeseen techical issues which have restricted what we can do at the moment. There is a solution and we have arranged for the necessary work to be done to allow us to carry on. We hope to be able to carry on with the work soon. While work has slowed, the site team have been taking the opportunity to catch up on other work which may not be quite as visible.

Enjoy the rest of the week

Hi Everyone

As you will have noticed, we're back on site! This week, we've mostly been setting up the compound as the weather hasn't been great. Hopefully today is the start of an improvement in the weather department!

Hi Everyone

Not long til we return! Just a little reminder that we will be back on site on Tuesday. As I said last week, the same restrictions will be in place on Roman Avenue as we had back in 2017. We thank you in anticipation for your understanding and cooperation.

We'll see you all on Tuesday!

Enjoy your Easter weekend!

Update by Anthony Birkett

Hi Everyone

Over the last week or so I've been out around Roman Avenue and had the pleasure of talking with many of you, to inform you of our imminent return. We were planning on a return on the Monday 26 March 2018, however this has been delayed slighly until the following week.  I will deliver another letter confirming his new date next week.  The works are expected to be complete within 10 weeks. The working area will be the same as when we were there in 2017 with the same parking restrictions.

If anyone has any questions about the work, please make a comment on here.

Regards

Tony

Update by Simon Bright

Hi

All of the manholes are now complete and the land drainage reinstated. Since the weather has turned, we will be returning in spring as planned to complete top soil and final reinstatements. The temporary access will be left in place to prevent further unnecessary disruption. We are now tidying up, off hiring all of our plant ready to go to the next scheme.

Hi

Sorry I didn't get an update on here last week, I had a few days off. While I was off Michael (the foreman pipe layer) and the lads did a great job and got the tank finished off without a hitch.

We've had a bit of misfortune this week with a flood from an unfinished manhole. The water flooded the excavation which made a section of the sealed tank float. We've been working hard all week with specialist machinery to get this fixed, it's now all done and the flood protection is working 100%. Next week we'll be finishing a few bits and pieces ready to reinstate the field.

Hi

All has gone to plan, we've made the connection from the new tank into the sewer this week by breaking down the existing manhole, modifying it and rebuilding it. Next week we'll continue excavating and laying the tank. There is a couple of pics below to show the work involved in modifying the manhole.

Hi

I'm the Site Agent for this job and will keep you updated with the progress and let you know what we are planning.

We've had a good start, the compound is set up, half of the tank is dug out, and pipes are on site and laid out ready to go. On Monday we will start laying the pipes, with a view to have 80 of them laid by next Friday.

I'll add a few photos every week so you can see whats going on inside the site.

If you have any queries regarding this job please contact me via this portal, either myself or one of the team will get back to you.

Hi Everyone

As Christine said in her recent update, I'm Tony and I deal with on site Customer Service. I'll be around site on a regular basis, so if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to get in touch and I'll be happy to help as much as I can.

I was out and about in the area recently and had the pleasure of speaking to some local residents.

And I've been on site again today and taken a few progress photos - as you can the compound is starting to stake shape.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the week,

Tony
