Update by Ian Davison
Hi
I hope you are all well and enjoying the better weather, let’s hope it lasts to the end of the Summer !
As you know we have been working in Maple Grove, Castle Road, Rowan Grove and Tyne View in Prudhoe as part of our Rainwise intuitive. This work has reduced the flood risk by increasing the capacity of the sewer system, the basins and swales constructed around Rowan Grove and Maple Grove will help to sustainably manage the surface water within the drainage catchment.
This portal has been updated regularly as the work progressed, I hope you found the information useful.
The good news is that we have completed this work.
Despite it being out of season we landscaped the open spaces where work has been undertaken. I would hope that the reinstated areas will fully establish over the coming months. We will continue to monitor these areas if remedial works are required they will be carried out in October
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for your patience and support during the construction phase of this project, I appreciate that you may have experienced some disruption over the period of this essential sewer upgrade.
At Northumbrian Water we are continuing to work with communities to manage the amount of rainwater that enters the sewer network through our Rainwise surface water management programme. We would encourage residents to get involved, making changes at home no matter how small, such as installing a water butt, can help manage rainwater in a natural environment.
We will be commencing our work in Ovingham in October, if you wish to follow progress please visit the Ovingham pages on this portal.
