Typical working hours would be Monday to Friday, between 8.00am and 6.00pm. If required, work may also be carried out between 8.00am and 1.00pm on a Saturday. We will notify you when weekend working may be required.

The construction work will involve the use of large machinery, road cutting equipment, digging up ground, pouring concrete and working with granular materials which will result in some dust, vibration and noise. The site team will do everything they can to minimise any inconvenience caused by this and will make sure that the work is carried out safely.

With large construction work it is inevitable that there will be some disruption in the immediate vicinity of the work. There will also be an increase in heavy traffic in the area, with vehicles transporting materials to and from the working sites and site compound.

We have no plans to disrupt your water supply while we work this project. In the unlikely event that the team accidently disrupts the water supply, our clean water response team will be notified immediately and emergency repairs planned.

The work will involve digging up and transporting large volumes soil and other excavated materials to storage or for disposal which may cause dirt on the roads.

The site team will employ a road cleaning specialist with mechanical road sweepers which will be used daily to maintain the roads affected.

The construction works on the main roads will require a phased road closure to be in place.

The site team will work in short lengths of 40 or 50 metres, closing only one working section at a time. You should be able to park within approx 25 metres of your property during any partial road closure. Footpaths will remain open and pedestrian access will be maintained to your property at all times.

If the collection wagon cannot get to your property, please put your bin out as normal and the site team will ensure the bins are moved to a place where they can be emptied. In the unlikely event that a bin collection is abandoned, we will arrange a revisit.

We are working closely with representatives from Northumberland County Council to minimise disruption and ensure an appropriate level of traffic management will be in place. 

The level of reinstatement will be agreed with Northumberland County Council and will be undertaken in accordance with national standards.
